Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their ways was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war - and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
Review
I feel like I'm really late on the Shatter Me wagon but better later than never, right? This book was truly incredible, I loved everything about it from the writing style to the world building and characters, it was just incredible and fast paced and so... dystopian. The ending finished so beautifully, and I was really not expecting that at all. Its such a great way to move onto the sequel.
Shatter Me has definitely gone into my top 10 favourites of this year, from the first chapter I was so attached to Juliette and her story, I literally couldn't put it down. The romance between Juliette and Adam was okay, some parts of the book I was a little bit bored as I wanted to see more of the world rather than Adam and Juliette and in some other parts I was totally rooting for them and couldn't get enough of their love for each other.
The first thing that really draws you in is the kind of voice the book has because its so unique. I really, really like Juliette's voice and how every time she didn't want to think about something, but she did think of it anyway, she would just cross it out and how she repeated and repeated words and sentences to really empathise her points.
I really don't want to spoil the story and its extremely hard not to go on about what happens in the book. Shatter Me is absolutely amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Read it!
